Special Call for ICYS Research Fellow Applications

The National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) invites applications for a special call for ICYS Research Fellow (postdoctoral fellow) positions, specifically targeting early-career researchers currently residing in the United States.
Eligible applicants must meet one of the following conditions:
  1. Currently engaged in materials science research at a university or research institution in the U.S., but are now facing difficulty in continuing their research
  2. Have received an offer of affiliation from a university or research institution in the U.S., but are now unable to begin their research
ICYS offers an excellent research environment with full access to NIMS’s state-of-the-art facilities, and supports fellows in conducting independent and self-directed research across a broad range of materials science fields. Applications for this special call are accepted on a rolling basis, even outside the regular recruitment periods (twice a year, in August/September and February/March).
Eligibility Early-career researchers who are currently conducting, or had planned to begin, research at a university or research institution in the U.S., but are now unable to continue or initiate their work. Other eligibility requirements are the same as those for the regular ICYS Research Fellow program.
Number of positions Approximately 10 fellows will be selected.
